Here’s a cool thing: I have a piece in the latest issue of Writer’s Digest—about how you can look toward kung-fu movies and musicals to improve your plotting, pacing, and character work. It’s a weird one and it’s in a big-time magazine I think that’s neat.
I was also on two podcasts that came out this week. The first up is the Indy Author Podcast, where me and host Matty talked about a lot of cool writing craft stuff—toolbox things I use in my own work.
Then on Jacked Kirby, I talked to host Tommy and Mike about comic books, writing, and a whole host of other random nonsense, with the focus on Blood Oath, my newly-released graphic novel, co-written with
. Tommy is an old friend so it was nice to hang out with them for a bit. Also, I’m opening back up to editorial services. You can check out the page for it here, but the gist is basically: I’m offering manuscript editing, book coaching, query package reviews, and consult calls. Questions, or interested? Hit me up.
Finally, one of the things I had hoped to do with this was get back to interviewing authors. I’m still thinking about the kind of format I want to use for that, but I’m going to be bold and say that next week’s newsletter will include an interview from someone. Let’s see how that goes!
Kung fu movies, huh? Can't wait to read this piece in WD!
