New York Comic Con starts tomorrow! I am very excited! This is my first year that I’ll be at the con for all four days, because I’ve got a table down in Artist Alley (Table L-10) with my good buddy
.Books will be available for sale from Kew & Willow. You can also find copies of Assassins Anonymous for sale at the Penguin Random House booth, and copies of Dark Space at the Blackstone booth.
I’ll be around to sign whatever you like, and I’ll be giving away free stickers and swag!
It’s going to be interesting… besides spending four straight days in the Javits Center, literally the worst place in all of New York City, I’m getting over the flu.
That’s why my Dark Space event at PT Knitwear was cancelled this past weekend, by the way. I had woken up with what I thought was a head cold, and it quickly progressed into me shivering on the couch.
We’ve rescheduled it to Dec. 18, and you can RSVP here. Yeah, a bit of a wait, but I’ve got Iceland Noir next month, and Alex’s new book Alter Ego comes out soon… we’re victims of our workaholic natures.
Back to NYCC! Here are some more details on those panels:
The Murder Mystery Party tomorrow night will be a fun, interactive evening where attendees receive roles and must work together to uncover the true murderer! Authors will assist throughout the event, be clue holders, and maybe even be the murderer themselves! This event will include a bar and is restricted to those 21 years and older. It’ll also include Tri Vuong, Jane Pek, Delilah Dawson, and Kara Thomas.
For the Writing Workshop on Saturday, I’ll join Sarah Hawley, C.M. Waggoner, and Julie Leong to do a deep dive on creating the perfect character archetypes—featuring insight into the creation process, exercises to flex your character creation muscles, and invaluable advice on three-dimensional characters. There will be writing exercises!
It’s going to be a fun, exhausting weekend! Come find me and say hi!
